Who Did This & Why?
Jamison Bruce Anthony
WRITER | Throughout the pandemic quarantine of 2020, Jamison lost a lot of himself in the opinions, anecdotes, jokes, and personalities of various podcast hosts. It wasn’t until he emerged from the fog and realized “Oh. These para-social relationships would be funnier if it weren’t so sad.” The same could and should be said of his unemployment and media diet from October 2024 - May 2025.
Additionally, Jamison cannot overstate how influential ‘You’ve Got Mail’ is to him as a writer. It’s the first DVD his family ever owned, and it’s the movie that got him writing regularly when he was nine years old. “You’re Not Well” is, at times, a modern extrapolation of the worst lessons learned from that movie regarding love, work, and our online personas. Beyond this, Jamison has written a finalist-award-laden half-hour comedy about casinos called ‘Bet on Chet,’ a feature comedy about ESPN legend Kenny Mayne called ‘Mid-Famous,’ a feature about legacy, dysfunctional families, and a talking record player called ‘Our Father, The Future,’ and a short about recovery, hope, and beach houses called “How to Name A Place.”

She is interested in telling stories with themes relating to loss, mental health, healing, and feeling misplaced. Because of this, Nieves finds “You’re Not Well” incredibly relevant in current times. We are so bombarded by so much information that we can be overwhelmed. Add this to an unstable personal situation, and you can find yourself seeking comfort in all the wrong places. Including “harmless” podcasts...
